Nethertown Cup Results
Congratulations to Gordon Gilchrist and his team of Jim Stewart, John Tough and Louise O'Donnelly on their win in last night's Nethertown Cup final.
The format of the competition was changed this year to allow more curling. After a 5 team round robin league, the top 4 teams then went in to semi final play offs with the final being played between Gordon's team and Tom McGregor's team of Miller Bowie, Douglas Caruthers and sub, Alan Turner.
Tom's team took an early lead winning the first 2 ends but Gordon's team fought back leading by 3 shots after the 4th end. Tom came back again with a win at the fifth end but it wasn't enough to stop Gordon taking the match 10 to 3 after 7 ends. Congratulations to both teams on an exciting final.
The next competition will be the Pairs with 6 teams competing on Tuesday 25th January and the final taking place a week later on 8th February. The pairings and times can be found on the website
